Located at the south end of Flatbush ave Brooklyn, just before the Marine Park Bridge is Floyd Bennett Field. The airfield was a municipal airport from 1931 when it was built up until 1941 when it was conveyedto the U.S. Navy. Today it has an air museum and recreation site with a number of activities including a sports center. Today is the meeting of the Brooklyn 5th scale drag racing association. They are here to test and race their cars . These are not your battery powered RC/Remote controlled cars you would might of had have as a kid. The cars are gasoline powered and capable of reaching 75 MPH in 4 to 5 seconds, some even use nitrous oxide . The racers work on their 5th scale sized cars like a Nascar or Formula one mechanic would, checking the tires, brakes, and engine performance. It was definitely fun to watch.
